Ezra Vanderhoof, an old resident of
Fish House, died Saturday~-at 9 a. m.
He was born July 3, 1829, being accordingly,
In his 77th year, at Wells,Hamilton county, and he lived with his father's family until he was about 13 years of age. Then he lived with
Hiram Lewis, near Northville. until his
19th year. He then went to Cayuga county and worked upon a farm for one year, when he returned to Northville.
He was married to Matilda Parmenter
of Northville, December 9,1851. Two children were born to them, Philo and Hettie. Philo died Julv,31,1861. Hettie married Willis Hayden,and now resides with her parents on the old homestead. Mr. Vanderhoof is survived by his widow also. He enlisted December 15. 1862. and served in the Civil war In Company D, Fourth New York Heavy Artillery Volunteers, returning home In June, 1865,at the close of the war. He had since resided in Northampton. He was a member of the M. E. church since 1870, and of the G. A. R. of Northville. The funeral will be held at his late residance in Fish House Tuesday, the anniversary of his birth, under the direction of the Grand Army post of Northville.
